Amaechi Calls Tinubu Nigeria’s Worst President Amid Rising Living Costs

Former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi has harshly criticized President Bola Tinubu, calling him the worst president Nigeria has ever had. Amaechi made these comments during a campaign rally for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Sokoto.

He pointed to the increasing cost of living, hunger, and poverty as major issues facing Nigerians today. Amaechi urged the public to compare their current living conditions under Tinubu with those during former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

According to Amaechi, the upcoming 2027 elections will be influenced more by economic struggles than by religious or ethnic identities. He stated, “Today, there is no religion in politics and ethnicity; it’s about the cost of living, it’s about hunger, poverty; only one man has killed all of us, and his name is Tinubu.”

Amaechi also questioned how Tinubu became president, asking Nigerians to think carefully about their choices for the next election. He described the large turnout at the Sokoto rally as unprecedented, noting that he had not seen such a crowd since the 2014 campaign.

He expressed confidence that the ADC is ready for the upcoming elections, stating, “If nothing else, we have shown them that we are prepared for the election.”
