Olofu Promises ₦50 Million for Social Programs in Benue South Ahead of 2027 Elections
Dr. David Adejo Abraham Olofu, the senatorial candidate for Benue South from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has announced a plan to invest ₦50 million in social programs if he is elected in 2027. He revealed his 12-point agenda during a campaign event in Oju Local Government Area over the weekend.
Olofu’s agenda focuses on enhancing agriculture, creating jobs, and improving healthcare and education. He emphasized the importance of community support across the nine local government areas in Benue South for a new approach to political representation.
As part of his commitment to education, Olofu mentioned that more than 300 students have received annual scholarships of ₦100,000 each through his Apa Legacy Sustainability Initiative. He has also provided ₦10 million to help pregnant women with medical bills at St Helen’s Specialist Hospital in Otukpo.
In addition, Olofu’s Wealth and Empowerment in Benue South initiative has given grants to local entrepreneurs, particularly women and widows. He aims to promote commercial agriculture and improve access to finance for small businesses.
Olofu also plans to establish technology hubs to train young people in digital skills and improve rural infrastructure, including roads and healthcare facilities. He believes that security is crucial for development and has proposed measures to enhance safety in the region.
He intends to create two non-partisan groups to ensure community needs are met and projects are monitored. Olofu called for unity among communities and stressed that effective representation is about serving the people, not just holding a position of power.
Supporters at the campaign event praised Olofu’s experience in public service and encouraged voters to back ADC candidates in the upcoming elections.
