Court Adjourns Trial of Suspects in Murder of FRSC Officer and Daughter

An Osun State High Court in Osogbo has postponed the arraignment of three suspects accused of murdering Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer Lasisi Oluwamayokun and her daughter, Adesewa. The court advised the suspects to find legal representation before the trial continues.

The suspects are Gboyega Daramola, 39, Sunday James, 38, and Fajemirokun Victor, 36. During the court session, state prosecutor Muyiwa Ogunleye explained that he could not serve the defendants with necessary legal documents in time. He requested a short delay to ensure the prosecution could complete its preparations.

After the hearing, Ogunleye mentioned that the state plans to present eight witnesses, including four police officers, in the trial. He expressed hope that the trial could start and potentially conclude on the next scheduled date, depending on the court’s calendar.

This case follows the tragic disappearance of Oluwamayokun and her daughter on November 2, 2025. They went missing after leaving their home in Abeokuta. It is alleged that Fajemirokun, an acquaintance of Oluwamayokun, lured them to their deaths, reportedly at the hands of ritualists, with the involvement of herbalists Daramola and James.

Justice Yinka Aderibigbe has set the next hearing for December 8. The suspects remain in custody at the Ilesa correctional facility.
