Goal Machine! Victor Osimhen Overtakes Milan Baros to Become Galatasaray’s 3rd Highest Foreign Goalscorer

Super Eagles talisman Victor Osimhen has etched his name deeper into Turkish football history after storming into third place on Galatasaray’s all-time list of foreign goalscorers.

The Nigerian striker delivered a masterclass performance during Galatasaray’s commanding four-nil victory over Erzurum FK, bagging a ruthless double to continue his sizzling start to the season. The brace took Osimhen’s impressive tally to 62 goals and 16 assists in just 76 appearances for the Istanbul giants, officially surpassing former Czech Republic star Milan Baros, who previously held third spot with 61 goals.

With Baros now in his rearview mirror, the 27-year-old goal merchant sits behind only two legends on the club’s foreign goalscoring ladder: Romanian icon Gheorghe Hagi, who netted 72 goals, and Argentine teammate Mauro Icardi, who tops the chart with 77 strikes.

Osimhen’s blistering form also saw him match a quarter-century club record. Having netted four goals across Galatasaray’s opening two league fixtures, he became the first player to hit that early-season mark since Brazilian legend Mario Jardel achieved the feat during the 2000/01 campaign. As the Turkish champions push for more domestic silverware, Osimhen’s electric start signals that Hagi and Icardi’s top records could soon be under serious threat.
