22 Suspected Cult Members Arrested and Arraigned in Delta State

The Delta State Police have arrested 22 suspected members of a cult in separate operations in the Eku and Owhelogbo communities. Those arrested include individuals aged between 19 and 45 years.

According to the police, 15 of the suspects were taken into custody in Eku, located in the Ethiope East area. They were brought before the Federal High Court in Warri on September 25, 2026. Meanwhile, seven other suspects arrested in Owhelogbo were presented at a Chief Magistrate Court.

All suspects face charges related to conspiracy and being part of an unlawful group, specifically the Supreme Vikings Confraternity, also called “Arobag.” The courts have ordered that they remain in custody while further legal proceedings take place.

Samuel E. Erale, the state’s police commissioner, emphasized the police’s commitment to tackling cultism. He urged anyone involved in such activities to stop and called on parents and community leaders to assist the police by providing timely and reliable information to prevent cult-related violence.
