President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Nigerian filmmakers Damilola Osikoya and Nora Awolowo for their impressive achievement of setting a Guinness World Record for the largest attendance at a film screening. This record was established on September 26, 2026, during the screening of the film Black Market in Lagos.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu recognized the filmmakers’ creativity and ambition. He described their achievement as a testament to the talent present in Nigeria’s creative industry.
Tinubu emphasized that the success of Black Market is an example of what can be accomplished when Nigerian creativity is combined with business skills. He noted that Nigeria’s creative economy is not only providing jobs but also sharing the country’s culture with global audiences.
