TechCabal Announces 2026 Moonshot Conference Theme Focused on African Innovation

TechCabal has announced the theme for its upcoming Moonshot conference, set for October 28 and 29, 2026, at the National Theatre in Lagos, Nigeria. The theme, “Courage & Conviction — Building for a New World,” aims to highlight the evolving landscape of African technology.

This year’s theme marks a shift from last year’s focus on recovery. Instead of questioning whether Africa’s tech industry can survive, it emphasizes how the continent can actively shape its future. The conference will address the changing global environment, including new investment trends and the impact of artificial intelligence.

Olanewaju Odunowo, head of TechCabal Insights, noted that African tech has shown resilience by adapting quickly and continuing to innovate. He stated that survival is just the starting point, and the conference will explore how African tech can achieve greater success.

The conference will be guided by a five-pillar manifesto that encourages bold innovation, sustainable practices, and a focus on local solutions that can compete globally. It will also highlight the contributions of founders and investors who have made significant commitments to the industry.

Moonshot 2026 will feature nine content tracks, including Future of Commerce and Emerging Tech, with programming designed to foster open discussions about challenges and successes in the tech space. The event aims to bring together ambitious individuals committed to disciplined growth.

Following its rapid growth, the previous Moonshot conference attracted 6,000 attendees from 39 countries and has seen over 12,650 participants since 2023. The conference has also facilitated significant investments, with attendees deploying over $5 billion into startups.
