Students appeal to Gov. Abiodun to retain lockdown method in Ogun

The National Association of Ogun State Students has called on Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State to continue with the lockdown against the spread of COVID-19 in the state.
Gbemileke Ogunrombi, the association’s National President, made the appeal in a statement in Abeokuta on Wednesday.

Ogunrombi commended the governor for efforts made so far by his administration to flatten the curve of the spread of the virus in the state.
He said the method adopted by the state in relaxing the lockdown for seven hours intermittently was in the best interest of the people of the state.
He said: “It is our strong belief that the state should continue to remain on lockdown, while still maintaining the seven-hour period of relaxation until the state is free of COVID-19.
“This is the only way the state can win the fight against the spread of the pandemic.
“For the governor to have invested billions of naira in acquiring needed facilities and setting up measures to combat the spread of COVID-19, it shows he is prepared to kick the virus out of the state.”
