Man Allegedly Kills Friend Over Political Disagreement in Bauchi
A man named Ibrahim Jadda was allegedly killed by his friend Sallau after a disagreement at their workplace in Bauchi. The incident took place at a car wash on Gombe Road on Thursday.
Sources say the two friends had a heated political argument the day before. Their colleagues intervened to separate them before things got physical. They left work without completing their usual tasks, which reportedly upset Sallau.
On the morning of the incident, Ibrahim arrived at work first and went to change clothes. Sallau soon followed but did not respond when Ibrahim greeted him, still upset from their earlier argument. Sallau then allegedly pulled out a dagger and stabbed Ibrahim in the chest.
After the attack, Sallau reportedly locked the cubicle and fled the scene. Concerned coworkers noticed the garage was not operating and went to check on them. They found the cubicle locked and forced it open, discovering Ibrahim lying in a pool of blood.
Ibrahim was rushed to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital for help but was pronounced dead shortly after. Police later tracked down Sallau in Liman Katagum and arrested him. He is currently in police custody.
Efforts to get a comment from the state police were unsuccessful, as their spokesperson did not respond to messages or calls.
