Kogi East Leaders Pledge Massive 2027 Votes to Tinubu and Ododo After Media Tour Unveils Mega Road and University Projects
A major political wave is sweeping through the Kogi East Senatorial District as community elders, political stakeholders, and traditional leaders united to celebrate a massive wave of road, environmental, and educational projects transforming their communities.
The widespread commendations came as a high-powered delegation from the Presidency—comprising members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and the Presidential Media Team led by Special Adviser Sunday Dare—conducted a multi-day inspection tour across various local government areas in the district. The tour was organized to evaluate the physical execution of projects funded through synergy between the federal government and the state administration.
One of the major highlights of the tour was the inspection of a landmark 12-kilometre internal road network in Ankpa Local Government Area, constructed alongside a massive 24-kilometre dual drainage channel. The project, executed under the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) program in partnership with the World Bank, was specifically designed to tackle severe erosion that had threatened residential homes for decades.
Speaking during the inspection, Ankpa Council Chairman, Alhaji Ademu Muhammed Yahaya, noted that while Ankpa is one of the oldest administrative divisions in the region, no previous administration had ever delivered a project of such scale. He praised Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for prioritizing the release of state counterpart funding required to unlock the World Bank resources.
The inspection team also tracked progress on the 60-kilometre Iyale–Ogane-Enugu rural road network in Dekina Local Government Area. For decades, agrarian communities along this axis struggled with impassable mud tracks, forcing harvested food items to rot on farms. Community leaders described the ongoing asphalt construction as the answer to generations of prayers, pointing out that previous political figures from their own ethnic background had failed to fix the route.
“This road project feels like the fulfillment of prayers offered by our forefathers,” shared community representative Elder Silvas during the tour. “For years, politicians came here to make promises during campaign seasons and disappeared afterward. Governor Ododo remembered us, and President Tinubu created the enabling environment. Our farmers can finally move their crops to market without crying over losses.”
Beyond rural transport networks, the media delegation inspected major educational infrastructure at Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU) in Anyigba. The team evaluated a newly erected ₦643 million College of Health Sciences building funded under the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) 2024 intervention, as well as a state-of-the-art ₦3.1 billion Senate Building executed under TETFund’s High Impact initiative.
Rounding off the tour, Presidential Media Adviser Sunday Dare noted that the projects reflect the real-world impact of President Tinubu’s economic and fiscal reforms, which have provided state governors with expanded resources to deliver grassroots development. In response, leaders across Kogi East declared that the most fitting way to appreciate the developmental focus of the current administration is to deliver overwhelming ballot box support for both President Tinubu and Governor Ododo when the country returns to the polls in 2027.
