Katsina Governor Dikko Radda Appoints Seven New Officials Amid Resignations
Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda has named seven new officials to important roles in his government. This move comes after several political appointees resigned in recent days.
The new appointments aim to support Radda’s ongoing agenda called Building Your Future. Among those appointed is Sheikh Nasiru Funtua, a well-known Islamic scholar, who will lead the Katsina State Pilgrims Welfare Board.
Other new Special Advisers to the Governor include Sirajo Batagarawa and Abubakar Kusada. Radda emphasized that these appointments were made based on the individuals’ skills and ability to serve the people of Katsina State effectively.
Batagarawa has a strong background in law and public administration, while Kusada has experience in education and human resource management. Their expertise is expected to benefit the state significantly.
Additionally, Shamsuddeen Dutsin-Ma was appointed as Director-General of the Katsina State Erosion and Watershed Management Agency, and Muhammad Musa will serve as Commander-General of the Katsina State Hisbah Board.
The governor has urged all appointees to work diligently and prioritize the needs of the state over personal interests. These appointments follow a wave of resignations, including key figures from the Katsina State Hisbah Board and the Pilgrims Welfare Board. The reasons behind these resignations have raised questions about possible internal conflicts within the All Progressives Congress party in Katsina.
