Jigawa State Governor Signs ₦698.3 Billion 2025 Budget into Law
Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, has officially signed the 2025 budget into law, approving ₦698.3 billion for the state and ₦184.4 billion for the 27 local government areas.
The signing ceremony took place on Tuesday at the Council Chamber, Government House, in Dutse, the state capital.
The budget, passed by the state House of Assembly on Monday without amendments, reflects a collaborative effort between the executive and legislative branches.
Governor Namadi expressed gratitude to the lawmakers for their prompt action, stating, “I am pleased that the budget has been passed without any changes, and I appreciate the efforts of the lawmakers in ensuring its speedy passage.”
He also acknowledged the Speaker of the House, Haruna Dangyatim, for his leadership and dedication to advancing the state’s development.
During the presentation of the approved budget, Speaker Dangyatim commended Namadi’s administration for its achievements in agriculture and education. He reaffirmed the assembly’s commitment to supporting the governor’s development agenda and ensuring the effective implementation of the budget.
The 2025 budget, titled “The Budget of Innovation and Transformation for Greater Jigawa,” prioritizes critical sectors such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic empowerment.
Key allocations include ₦90.76 billion for personnel costs, ₦63.69 billion for recurrent expenses, and ₦534.76 billion for capital investment. The healthcare sector received particular focus, with over ₦40 billion dedicated to improving healthcare services across the state.
Governor Namadi’s administration aims to drive progress through this transformative budget, fostering sustainable growth and enhanced service delivery in Jigawa State.
