JAMB Restores Admissions System, Urges Quick Processing for 2026/2027

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has restored its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) after a brief disruption. This allows schools to continue processing admissions for the 2026/2027 academic year.

In a statement released on Monday, JAMB confirmed that CAPS is now fully operational. The board encouraged educational institutions to accelerate their admission processes to make up for lost time and meet the deadlines set for admissions.

JAMB advised candidates who receive admission offers to accept them promptly. Public universities have until the end of October 2026 to finish their admission processes, while private universities have until the end of November 2026.

The board also reminded candidates who were waiting for their results to upload or verify their credentials now that the results from the 2026 National Examinations Council (NECO) Senior School Certificate Examination have been released. This step is crucial for ensuring that their credentials are ready for consideration as schools ramp up their admission activities.

JAMB expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by the earlier disruption and thanked candidates and institutions for their patience during this time. The board emphasized the importance of using the restored CAPS system to keep the admission process on track.
