Sajoh suggested that Fasuyi may have distorted the facts in an effort to defend Senate President Godswill Akpabio, stressing that Fayemi has never been associated with any harassment allegations.
Fayemi Denies Sexual Harassment Allegation, Dismisses Fasuyi’s Claims
Former Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has rejected claims by Senator Cyril Fasuyi that he was accused of sexual harassment by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, calling the allegation completely false.
In a statement from his media office, Fayemi’s spokesperson, Mallam Ahmad Sajoh, categorically refuted Fasuyi’s assertion, which was made during a Senate plenary session.
“This claim is entirely false. At no point has Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan—or anyone else—ever accused Dr. Fayemi of such misconduct,” the statement read.
Sajoh suggested that Fasuyi may have misrepresented facts in an attempt to defend Senate President Godswill Akpabio, stressing that Fayemi has never been linked to any harassment allegations.
“For the record, the only professional engagement Dr. Fayemi ever had with Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan was during his tenure as Minister of Mines and Steel Development, when he handled issues related to the Ajaokuta Steel Company. While they may have had differing views on the company’s future, their interactions remained strictly policy-driven,” he clarified.
The statement urged Fasuyi to fact-check his claims before making public statements that could damage reputations.
“We encourage Senator Fasuyi to exercise greater diligence in verifying facts before making public remarks, particularly on sensitive issues that could harm reputations,” Sajoh added.
