Real Madrid
Real Madrid defeated Borussia Dortmund 2-0 on Saturday to clinch the UEFA Champions League title at Wembley Stadium. This victory marks Real Madrid’s record 15th Champions League win, with their previous triumph in the 2021-2022 season.
Despite a strong first half from Dortmund, Real Madrid took control in the second half. Dani Carvajal opened the scoring in the 74th minute with a header from Toni Kroos’ corner. Nine minutes later, Vinicius Junior sealed the win, doubling the lead after a pass from Jude Bellingham, sending the ball into the far corner past Dortmund keeper Gregor Kobel.
Dortmund’s early dominance saw Thibaut Courtois make crucial saves and Niclas Fullkrug hit the post. However, Real Madrid capitalized on their second-half opportunities to secure the victory.
Coach Edin Terzic’s Dortmund team had outmaneuvered Carlo Ancelotti’s Madrid in the first half, but Courtois and the goalpost kept the score level. Madrid’s adjustments at halftime allowed them to take control and ultimately win the match.
