Benue Praises Tinubu’s Economic Reforms as Revenue Boom Sparks Massive Road and Industrial Surge

The Benue State Government has linked the rapid transformation of its road networks and the revival of abandoned state industries directly to the fiscal reforms executed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Speaking during a project inspection tour organized by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in collaboration with the Presidential Media Team in Makurdi, Benue State Deputy Governor Dr. Sam Ode revealed that higher financial allocations from the federal government have empowered the state to embark on historic development projects.

The Deputy Governor explained that President Tinubu’s economic policies have significantly increased monthly revenue distributions to subnational governments. Under the leadership of Governor Hyacinth Alia, Benue has channeled these enhanced financial resources directly into strategic road corridors, rural access routes, and local manufacturing facilities to boost food production and economic security.

Key projects currently underway across the state include the ₦122 billion, 122-kilometer Wurukum–Air Force Base dual carriageway, the 100-meter River Mu Bridge, the ₦6.9 billion Makurdi High-Level Interchange, and the long-awaited 854-meter Buruku Bridge designed to end decades of hazardous river crossings and boost trade with neighboring states.

On the industrial front, increased revenues have aided the revival of state-owned economic assets, including the long-dormant Taraku Mills and the Benue Food Basket Brewery, which has already created over 1,000 direct jobs for local residents.

Buoyed by these developmental gains, the state government reaffirmed its political backing for the administration. Deputy Governor Ode restated Governor Alia’s pledge that the executive council and the people of Benue State are fully mobilized to deliver no fewer than one million votes for President Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, asserting that the tangible benefits of the administration’s reforms are already being felt across the state’s communities.
