APC Elects New North-West Zonal Executives in Kaduna; Hon. Garba Datti Muhammad Emerges as Vice Chairman Ahead of National Convention

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has successfully reinforced its structure in the North-West geopolitical zone with the election of a new executive committee. Following the zonal congress held in Kaduna on Saturday, March 21, 2026, the party has “flipped the script” on internal friction by producing a consensus-driven leadership team to pilot the affairs of the zone.

Hon. Garba Datti Muhammad, a seasoned politician and former federal lawmaker, emerged as the National Vice Chairman for the North-West. His election, along with other zonal officers, comes at a critical time as the party seeks to solidify its “Renewed Hope” agenda in its most populous voting bloc. The congress was supervised by a national monitoring team and attended by key stakeholders, including APC governors from the region who described the smooth transition as a “Solution” to previous leadership gaps.

Speaking after the results were announced, the new Zonal Vice Chairman promised to work tirelessly to reconcile aggrieved members in states like Kano and Zamfara. “Our focus is 2027,” Muhammad stated. “We are here to ensure that the North-West remains the heartbeat of the APC and that we deliver the dividends of democracy to our people through a united front.”

The new executives have already moved to Abuja for the 2026 APC National Convention, which began on Wednesday, March 25. Their inauguration during the convention marks the final step in the party’s nationwide reorganization. With a fresh mandate in hand, the North-West team is now tasked with converting the party’s current momentum into long-term political stability across the seven states under their watch.
