APC Candidate Oyebamiji Speaks Out After Osun Polls, Urges Police to Stop Post-Election Attacks

All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji has broken his silence following the Osun State governorship election, declaring his respect for the position of the Independent National Electoral Commission while endorsing his party’s decision to review the exercise.

In an official statement released to the public, Oyebamiji acknowledged that although his campaign team had anticipated a different result, he accepts the position outlined by the electoral umpire. He explained that he stands firmly behind the APC leadership’s ongoing review of the entire election process to determine the party’s next steps.

Expressing appreciation to the electorate, the candidate thanked voters, volunteers, and party leaders who backed his development agenda during the campaign trail. He emphasized that although the political contest has concluded, the vision and core principles promoted by his campaign team remain relevant for the future progress of the state.

Oyebamiji also raised concerns regarding security across several communities, alleging a surge in post-election hostility and targeted attacks against party members. Urging swift action from law enforcement, he called on the Nigeria Police Force and security agencies to step in without delay to protect lives, maintain order, and prevent any further breakdown of law and order.
