Academic Excellence: Mrs. Nonye Soludo Celebrates Team Anambra’s Win at STAN Competition

The First Lady of Anambra State, Dr. Nonye Soludo, has commended the state’s students and educators for their outstanding performance at the 65th Annual Conference of the Science Teachers Association of Nigeria (STAN), where they clinched the “Best Branch of the Year” award. The conference, which brought together science educators from across the nation, was held in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Mrs. Soludo, who is also the convener of the “Healthy Living With Nonye Soludo” initiative, expressed her delight at the victory, describing it as a testament to her husband’s administration’s commitment to education.

“I am super pleased to learn that Anambra won a big one at the 65th Science Teachers Association of Nigeria Annual Conference, which just took place in Abeokuta, Ogun State,” she said. “Winning the ‘Best Branch of the Year’ award means that Anambra State is still walking on the right path.”

The First Lady emphasized that the achievement was no accident, but a direct result of the state government’s strategic focus on the education sector. “We are not just investing massively in quality and all-time inclusive education. We are also attending to the most crucial needs of this important sector,” she added. The conference, themed ‘Language and STEM Education,’ featured a science fair exhibition where students displayed innovative projects, underscoring the potential of young minds as future problem-solvers.

This latest victory for Anambra’s students follows a series of other recent academic and intellectual successes, which Mrs. Soludo says are a testament to the state’s vision. “The vision is simple – no Anambra child whose dream is to excel through the classroom should ever be deprived of a chance to have that lifetime opportunity,” she concluded. “Anambra is still winning. The Solution is Here!”
