Oyo State NG-CARES Programme Resumes Farm Input Distribution
The Oyo State Government has recommenced the distribution of essential farm inputs to smallholder farmers under the Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) programme this June 2025. This initiative is a continuous effort to boost food security and enhance rural incomes within the state.
An official statement from the Oyo State government on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, confirmed the resumption of the program. This phase follows a successful previous distribution in September 2024, where 3,660 smallholder farmers received a wide array of support including seeds, stems, fertilizers, herbicides, livestock, and other vital agricultural items.
The Oyo State NG-CARES programme is designed to improve agricultural productivity through the provision of high-quality inputs and direct economic support to local farmers. The consistent implementation of this initiative is expected to contribute significantly to the state’s food production capacity and provide much-needed economic relief to vulnerable farming communities. This continued support is a testament to the state government’s commitment to strengthening the agricultural sector and ensuring sustainable livelihoods for its citizens.
