Felix Agu Cleared to Represent Nigeria’s Super Eagles

Werder Bremen defender Felix Nnaemeka Agu has officially received clearance from FIFA to represent Nigeria’s national football team, the Super Eagles. This development follows confirmation from the German Football Association (DFB) that Agu has not participated in any official matches—senior or junior—for Germany, having only featured in two friendly games for the U-21 team in 2019

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) announced Agu’s eligibility on Saturday, stating that the 24-year-old is now available for selection in upcoming international fixtures. Agu had previously been included in the Super Eagles’ squad for the Unity Cup invitational tournament but was awaiting FIFA’s approval to participate.

Agu’s addition to the Super Eagles is expected to bolster the team’s defensive options as they prepare for future competitions, including the Africa Cup of Nations and 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers .
