Moniepoint Customers Can Check Eligibility for ₦50,000 Government Support

Moniepoint Microfinance Bank has announced that its customers can check if they qualify for the Federal Government’s ₦50,000 emergency relief support. This can be done through the bank’s USSD service.

To check eligibility, customers need to dial *5573*27# from their registered phone numbers. After dialing, they can select the option to verify their status for the National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI).

If customers are confirmed as beneficiaries, they will receive instructions on how to accept the support and have the funds transferred to their Moniepoint accounts without any extra fees.

This initiative, led by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, aims to provide financial help to vulnerable households facing economic challenges.

Moniepoint is one of the payment providers chosen by the government to manage the distribution of these relief funds. The selection of beneficiaries is based on government criteria and checks that use verified national identity records.

The program will roll out in phases, meaning not all customers will be eligible at the same time. Babatunde Olofin, the bank’s Managing Director, expressed the bank’s commitment to helping eligible customers access this assistance.

Olofin emphasized that customers should only use the official USSD channel for checking eligibility and accessing funds, as the process does not require any extra payments or third-party help. For any questions, customers can reach out to the bank’s customer service or the NERSI helpdesk.
