Adebutu Addresses Supporters After Name Omission from Election Candidate List
Ladi Adebutu, a candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has assured his supporters that the omission of his name from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) list for the 2027 governorship election is just a temporary issue. He spoke in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, during an event where he welcomed new members from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and other parties.
Adebutu expressed confidence that he and his party will overcome this setback and succeed in the upcoming elections. He urged his supporters not to be discouraged by the actions of opposing parties. He emphasized that he has been a dedicated member of the PDP for over 20 years and questioned the validity of the claims regarding his party affiliation.
He stated, “I am a card-carrying member of the Peoples Democratic Party. I have been a candidate of the PDP in every election cycle for the last 20 years.” Adebutu also mentioned that he played a significant role in registering party members and organizing efforts to strengthen the party.
Despite the challenges, he reassured his supporters that they are still actively engaging with voters across local governments and wards in the state. Adebutu remains focused on his campaign and believes that the current situation will ultimately benefit their efforts.
He concluded by stating, “We will not be distracted. We keep our eyes on the ball, and we shall win.”
