Betta Edu Aims for 40 Million Votes for Tinubu in 2027 Election
Dr. Betta Edu, Co-Chair of the Women Mobilisation Directorate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, has announced plans to secure 40 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 elections. Edu made this statement during a visit to the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, on Thursday.
During her visit, Edu shared her belief that Nigeria is moving past tough economic reforms and is ready to enter a period of prosperity under Tinubu’s leadership. She emphasized that Nigerians have endured challenging times and are now prepared to benefit from the reforms made by the current administration.
Edu explained that achieving the ambitious goal of 40 million votes will require focused efforts at the grassroots level, especially among women. She highlighted the importance of engaging directly with women in communities, markets, and households to understand their needs and share the government’s achievements.
She urged APC supporters in Kaduna to increase their mobilization efforts through peaceful means, such as door-to-door campaigns, rather than relying solely on large rallies. Edu also praised the Deputy Governor for her role in advancing women’s political participation in the region.
In response, Deputy Governor Balarabe assured the delegation that the state government is committed to a successful campaign flag-off. She noted that Kaduna’s position as a political hub in Northern Nigeria adds to the responsibility of organizing a successful event. Balarabe encouraged women leaders to continue their efforts beyond the campaign launch to ensure political support translates into votes.
The visit is part of the preparations for the APC presidential campaign flag-off in Kaduna, as the Women Mobilisation Directorate ramps up its grassroots support initiatives ahead of the 2027 elections.
