Warning Issued Against Fake Fundraiser for Toluwanisings’ Family
A friend of Nigerian gospel singer Toluwanisings has warned the public about a fake fundraising campaign claiming to seek help for his family. The appeal, which circulated on social media, features a flyer with the singer’s photo and asks for donations for his wife and children.
Lanre Alewilese, who is also a gospel singer, publicly disowned the fundraiser. He described it as false and urged people not to donate through unauthorized channels. Alewilese called on the public to report the account responsible for spreading the misleading information.
In his statement, he said, “Disclaimer!!! This is not true please. Please let’s report this page massively.” He emphasized that any legitimate fundraising effort would come from the singer’s official platform.
This warning comes after the announcement of Toluwanisings’ death on October 14, 2026. His passing has led to an outpouring of condolences from fans and the gospel music community.
