Amaechi Challenges Tinubu Government to Name Completed Projects
Rotimi Amaechi, the Vice-Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, has called on the Federal Government to identify a major project completed under President Bola Tinubu. He made this statement during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today.
Amaechi, who has previously served as the governor of Rivers State and the Minister of Transportation, expressed concerns about the current administration’s achievements in infrastructure. He argued that the previous government under former President Muhammadu Buhari completed several projects during its first term, unlike the Tinubu administration.
He specifically mentioned the Abuja-Kaduna rail project as an example of what was accomplished under Buhari. Amaechi challenged the Tinubu government to name any completed project, including a major road project that has been discussed but not yet finished.
In addition to questioning project delivery, Amaechi accused the Tinubu administration of being more corrupt than Buhari’s government, claiming that corruption is more visible now than it was before. He stated that while corruption existed under Buhari, it was often concealed, whereas he believes it is now more apparent.
Amaechi defended his own record while serving under Buhari, denying any involvement in corruption and stating that he would welcome evidence to the contrary. He emphasized his commitment to integrity and distance from corrupt practices.
