Israel Issues Stern Warning to Iran, Vows to Hit Back with ‘Great Force’ if Attacked

Israel has issued a strong warning to Iran, declaring that its armed forces are prepared to retaliate with overwhelming firepower if targeted in the widening Middle East conflict.

Speaking at a policy conference organized by Israeli media outlets Ynet and Yedioth Ahronoth, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz warned that the country’s military is on maximum defensive and offensive alert. Katz acknowledged that while recent Iranian retaliatory barrages have primarily focused on United States military positions across the region, Israeli commanders are taking no chances.

He stressed that Israel is fully equipped to defend its airspace and launch counteroffensives autonomously, stating that combat aircraft are prepped on runways to respond instantly if provoked. Katz added that security forces are maintaining exceptional vigilance ahead of the Jewish High Holiday season, cautioning that hostile actors have historically sought to exploit sacred calendar windows to launch surprise assaults.

Echoing the defence minister’s position, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar emphasized that Israel is not seeking to broaden the war, but made it clear that national deterrence remains absolute. Saar noted that while Israel currently has no immediate blueprint to plunge into the direct hostilities playing out between Washington and Tehran, any misstep that breaches Israeli sovereignty will be met with decisive military action.

The warning comes amid sharp regional escalations triggered by widespread American bombardments and subsequent Iranian missile and drone barrages targeting US bases situated in Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, and Iraq’s autonomous Kurdistan region.

With regional air defense batteries on high alert and diplomatic channels strained, Israeli authorities maintain that while they remain on the sidelines of the latest exchanges, their defensive shield is active and ready to deliver an immediate, punishing blow should hostilities spill across their borders.
