Police Raid Anambra Kidnap Den, Nab 25-Year-Old Gang Member and Seize Three Guns
Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command have dealt another blow to violent criminal syndicates following the arrest of a 25-year-old kidnapping and armed robbery suspect, Emmanuel Mark, alongside the recovery of three firearms.
The arrest was executed during an intelligence-driven operation launched to dismantle criminal gangs terrorizing residents and road users across the state.
According to security reports, the syndicate operated with a calculated method: members would deliberately engage unsuspecting victims in heated arguments to distract them, overpower them at gunpoint, and forcefully drag them to an isolated hideout in Umoji, Ebenebe. While held in captivity at the camp, victims were subjected to severe physical torture and stripped of their money, mobile phones, and other valuable assets.
During the security swoop, operatives recovered three firearms used by the gang to execute their attacks and subdue hostages.
Reacting to the development, Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Nnanna Ama, commended the tactical team for their operational discipline and ordered a full-scale investigation to track down other fleeing members of the syndicate.
The command assured the public that proactive surveillance, intelligence gathering, and targeted clearance operations will continue across all flashpoints to deny criminals safe havens and keep communities safe.
