Wike Blasts Opposition for Crying Fraud Only When They Lose Elections

Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has called out opposition politicians over what he described as hypocritical complaints regarding election integrity in the country.

Speaking during a media briefing in Abuja, Wike addressed public debates following the Osun State governorship election. He criticized opposition figures for routinely accusing the central government of manipulating electoral processes whenever results do not go their way, while eagerly celebrating the exact same system whenever they emerge victorious.

Wike argued that election outcomes where opposition candidates win clearly disprove allegations that the presidency uses state security or federal power to dictate results. According to him, the current administration has demonstrated a consistent commitment to allowing democratic institutions and electoral processes to run independently without executive interference.

He urged political leaders to display maturity by accepting democratic outcomes regardless of who wins. Wike added that instead of blaming federal authorities for electoral setbacks, opposition parties should focus on resolving internal divisions and building stronger structures as political activities gather momentum across the nation.
