Babcock University Destroys Viral Fake Certificate Linked to Carter Efe, Threatens Forgers With Jail Time

The management of Babcock University has completely distanced itself from a viral academic credential making the rounds on social media, warning the public that the document is an outright forgery riddled with multiple embarrassing mistakes.

The controversy took off after online spaces were flooded with a purported “Honorary Certificate” bearing the school’s official name, seal, and logo. The document claimed to prove that popular comedian and content creator Oderhohwo Joseph Efe, better known as Carter Efe, graduated from the elite private institution with a stellar academic record. However, in a public notice posted to its official communication channels, the university’s registry blasted the document as unauthorized and fraudulent, advising employers, international agencies, and government bodies to disregard it completely.

The school’s administrative team didn’t just deny the paper; they completely dismantled its contents by pointing out several ridiculous errors that a real graduate would notice instantly. First, the fake document claimed Carter Efe earned a “First Class Upper.” The university clarified that this specific terminology is completely foreign to its grading ledger. Under Babcock’s actual guidelines, top-tier academic excellence is strictly recognized and awarded as “First Class Honours.”

Furthermore, the document claimed to be issued by a body named the “Babcock University Biochemistry Computer Club.” The institution revealed that whoever forged the paper made a massive error by mixing up completely unrelated academic faculties.

“For the avoidance of doubt, student clubs or individual departments have zero authority to issue degrees, honors, or official academic titles,” the university management clarified in its press release. “Our Biochemistry program operates within the Benjamin S. Carson College of Health and Medical Sciences, whereas the Computer Club belongs to a completely different wing under the School of Computing and Engineering Sciences. True academic excellence is only recognized through a legitimate degree certificate and an official transcript coming straight from the Office of the Registrar.”

The drama surrounding Carter Efe’s academic history didn’t start overnight. The roots of the viral certificate date back to a live broadcast where the internet personality lost his temper at viewers who were making fun of his educational background. In a bid to silence his critics, the skitmaker claimed he attended Babcock University, studied Biochemistry, and finished as the overall best in his graduating class. While many social media users dismissed his comments as standard online comedy at the time, the sudden appearance of the fake certificate forced the institution to protect its brand reputation.

The university has made it clear that it is not taking the identity theft lightly. The administration warned that the creation, distribution, or use of falsified academic documents to secure jobs, admissions, promotions, or visa benefits is a severe criminal offense under Nigerian law. With instructions already handed down to its legal representatives, Babcock is prepared to launch full civil and criminal proceedings against the counterfeiters. By drawing a hard line in the sand, the institution is reminding the public that it will aggressively use the courts to stamp out credential forgery and defend the integrity of its legitimate graduates.
