Danger in the Ward: Fake Doctor Arrested in Ondo After Running Secret Illegal Clinic and Treating Patients with Forged Identity

The Ondo State Police Command has successfully shut down a dangerous illegal medical operation in the Ore area of the state, arresting a twenty five year old man who had been posing as a professional doctor. The suspect, identified as Nasiru Idris, was caught following a tip off about a clandestine clinic operating without any official license or government oversight.

According to police reports, Idris had been misleading members of the public by presenting himself as a fully qualified medical practitioner. However, a deeper look into his background revealed that he was only trained as a community health extension worker at a health technology school in Ogun State a qualification that does not allow him to perform surgeries or run a private hospital.

During a targeted raid on the illegal facility and a subsequent search of the suspect’s residence, officers recovered a significant stash of medical equipment. The haul included used and new injection needles, medical drips, bandages, and various syringes, suggesting that active medical procedures were being performed on the premises.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed that the arrest was part of an intensified effort to protect lives and dismantle criminal networks. He noted that the suspect is currently in custody and has provided useful information to investigators.

The State Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, used the occasion to issue a stern warning to residents, advising them to remain vigilant. He emphasized that seeking healthcare from unlicensed “quacks” poses a severe risk to life and urged citizens to only patronize government approved or verified private medical institutions. Idris is expected to face criminal charges for medical quackery and operating an illegal clinic as soon as investigations are concluded.
