Delta First Lady Tobore Oborevwori Charges Royal Mothers to Mobilize Community Women for Immediate PVC Registration

The Wife of the Governor of Delta State, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, has issued a clear directive to traditional institutions across the state, calling on royal mothers to champion the cause of women’s political empowerment by ensuring comprehensive registration for the Permanent Voter Card (PVC). The First Lady made the call on Friday, December 5, 2025, while speaking at the End-of-Year Banquet in honour of the Wives of Traditional Rulers, an event aimed at fostering unity and celebrating community successes.

Addressing the esteemed audience, Deaconess Oborevwori, who is also the Founder of the You Matter Charity Foundation (YMCF), stressed that the importance of political engagement cannot be overstated. “I urge all royal mothers to ensure that women in your various communities register for Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs), emphasizing that political participation is crucial for empowering women’s voices,” she stated. The First Lady maintained that holding a PVC is the fundamental tool for exercising democratic rights and influencing policy direction through credible representation.

Beyond the call for political mobilization, Mrs. Oborevwori also appealed to the wives of the traditional rulers to strengthen the bonds of unity within their domains, foster mutual support among themselves, and continue to uphold prayer for the peace and prosperity of their kingdoms. She assured the royal mothers of the administration’s commitment to their well-being and welfare. In response, Queen Ofejiro Ogbogbo of Ozoro Kingdom, speaking on behalf of the Queens, assured the Governor’s wife of their unwavering support for the administration of His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and pledged to carry out the directive on civic mobilization.
