PDP, ADC Condemn Kebbi School Abduction Where 25 Students Were Taken and Vice Principal Killed, Demand Immediate Rescue

The nation’s security challenges were thrust back into the spotlight today, Monday, November 17, 2025, as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) jointly condemned the attack on a secondary school in Kebbi State and demanded the immediate rescue of the abducted students.

The attack occurred in the early hours of Monday at the Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School, Maga, in the Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area. Armed bandits abducted 25 students from their hostel and fatally shot the school’s Vice Principal, Hassan Makuku.

In a strongly worded press release, the PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, expressed deep sorrow, noting that the tragic incident “further highlights the alarming rise in insecurity that has become the lived reality of the majority of Nigerians.” The PDP called on the Federal Government to prioritize securing lives and property, warning that a failure to decisively tackle the issue could have severe consequences.

ADC Warns of Losing Control

Similarly, the ADC, through its spokesperson, Bolaji Abdullahi, asserted that the Kebbi tragedy is a “painful reminder of the worsening insecurity across our country.”

“What happened in Kebbi is not an isolated event. It is part of a consistent pattern that shows a government that has lost control of the security architecture of the country,” the ADC statement read. The party mourned the vice principal’s death and urged President Bola Tinubu and the security agencies to respond with urgency and competence, demanding that the abducted girls be found and rescued immediately, making it a matter of “utmost national security priority.”
