Troops Raid Bandit Hideout in Plateau, Neutralize One Suspect

Troops of Operation Safe Haven have successfully raided a suspected bandit camp in the Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State, resulting in the death of one armed criminal and the recovery of weapons and other items.

The operation, carried out based on credible intelligence, targeted a location believed to be a base for bandit activities threatening the safety of local communities. According to military sources, the troops engaged the criminals in a brief firefight, during which one of the suspects was neutralized while others fled the scene.

A statement from the Nigerian Army confirmed the recovery of one AK-47 rifle, a magazine loaded with seven rounds of ammunition, and a motorcycle believed to have been used for criminal operations. The troops have since intensified search efforts to apprehend fleeing gang members and dismantle any remaining criminal infrastructure in the area.

Security operatives have assured residents of Wase and surrounding communities of their continued commitment to maintaining peace and eliminating threats posed by armed groups. The military also urged locals to provide timely and accurate information to aid ongoing counter-insurgency efforts in the region.
