Tinubu Orders Nationwide Rice Sharing for Ramadan and Lent; Renewed Hope Teams to Reach Every Ward

President Bola Tinubu has moved to “flip the script” on the high cost of food by ordering a massive nationwide sharing of rice. On Sunday, March 15, the President directed the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to start giving out bags of rice to support citizens who are observing the Ramadan and Lenten fasts.

The Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, who is leading the group, said the plan is to reach every corner of Nigeria. “Ramadan and Lent are times for sacrifice and caring for others,” Uzodimma explained. He noted that the President wants to make sure that “no family feels forgotten” during this holy period.

To make sure the sharing is fair, the rice will be moved through local government and ward leaders. This will help get the food directly to low-income families and those who need it most. This new “Renewed Hope” gift follows a similar project from last Christmas, showing that the government is trying to stand with the people during their most important religious celebrations.

By giving food to both Christians and Muslims at the same time, the President hopes to strengthen unity in the country. Many Nigerians have started receiving their packages in places like Ikeja and Sokoto, and they say the food will help them greatly as they focus on their prayers and reflection.
