Plateau APC Boss Bature Vows Record-Breaking Vote Haul for Tinubu; Cites Federal Projects and ‘Renewed Hope’ Impact as Game-Changers

In a move that signals an early start to the 2027 political calculations, the Plateau State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has set an ambitious target of delivering one million votes to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The declaration was made by the State APC Chairman, Hon. Rufus Bature, during a high-profile meeting of the party’s State Executive Committee and grassroots mobilizers in Jos. Bature insisted that the target is not merely political rhetoric but a “realistic projection” based on the President’s performance in the North-Central region.

“Plateau State is an APC state at heart, and the results of 2027 will prove it,” Bature told the cheering crowd. “We have analyzed the impact of the federal government’s interventions from the infrastructure projects to the special agricultural grants for our farmers and the sentiment on the ground has shifted. We are committing to a minimum of one million votes for President Tinubu.”

The Chairman noted that the party has successfully moved past the legal and internal battles that followed the previous election cycle. He highlighted that the recent stability in the state’s security situation, aided by federal reinforcements, has allowed the APC to re-establish its presence in the rural wards that were previously inaccessible.

A key pillar of this “One Million Votes” strategy is the highlighting of the 2025 Tax Reform Acts, which Bature claimed has simplified the business environment for Plateau’s thriving small-scale mining and agricultural sectors. “Our people are seeing the harvest of the ‘tough pills’ we took in 2024. They see the roads, they see the stability, and they will reward the President with their ballots,” he added.

“This is a ‘bottom-up’ mobilization. We are not just looking for numbers; we are looking for the hearts of the Plateau people who have seen that the Renewed Hope agenda is not just a slogan, but a lived reality.”  Hon. Rufus Bature, Plateau APC Chairman

Political observers in Jos suggest that the APC’s bold claim is also a strategic move to keep its base energized while the opposition PDP manages the state’s executive affairs. As the 2026 political calendar begins to heat up, the “Jos Declaration” by Bature has effectively drawn the battle lines for what promises to be a high-stakes electoral contest in the “Home of Peace and Tourism.”
