Oyo State Advances LAUTECH Sole Ownership with ₦5 Billion Payment to Osun
The Oyo State Government has announced the payment of ₦5 billion to Osun State as part of the ₦8 billion agreement for the sole ownership of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso. This payment aligns with the terms set in the 2020 accord between the two states.
Prince Dotun Oyelade, Oyo’s Commissioner for Information, stated that the state has been disbursing ₦1 billion annually and aims to complete the remaining ₦3 billion before the end of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration in 2027.
Since assuming full control, Oyo State has initiated significant developments at LAUTECH, including the establishment of the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources at the Iseyin campus. Recently, the government approved ₦650 million for the campus’s Teaching and Research Farm and commenced infrastructure projects to enhance the institution’s facilities
