Ooni of Ife Commends Tinubu for Establishing South West Development Commission and Appointing Visionary Leaders
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the establishment of the South West Development Commission (SWDC) and the appointment of distinguished individuals to spearhead its mission.
In a statement released by the Director of Media and Public Affairs at the Ooni’s Palace, Otunba Moses Olafare, the monarch described the creation of the SWDC as a visionary step towards addressing the infrastructural and socio-economic challenges facing the South West region. He particularly commended the appointment of Dr. Charles Akindiji Akinola as the pioneer Managing Director and Mrs. Nike Omoworare to a key leadership position within the commission.
Oba Ogunwusi highlighted Dr. Akinola’s extensive experience in public-private partnerships, rural enterprise development, and international development cooperation, stating that these credentials make him well-suited to lead the commission effectively. He also praised Mrs. Omoworare’s longstanding commitment to regional development, noting that her inclusion in the commission’s leadership reflects President Tinubu’s dedication to inclusive governance.
