NYSC Lauds Four Benue Ex-Corps Members Honoured by Tinubu with Jobs, Scholarships

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Benue State has expressed profound pride and admiration for four of its former corps members who were recently bestowed with the prestigious President’s Honours Award by President Bola Tinubu. The ex-corps members, celebrated for their exceptional community development service, are among 200 honorees who received automatic employment, scholarships, and a cash reward.

In a statement issued by the NYSC Information Officer in Benue State, Yahuza Adamu, the organization described the honorees as “Benue ambassadors” and “beacons of patriotism.” The statement, made available to journalists in Makurdi on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, highlighted the outstanding achievements that led to the national recognition.

The four distinguished ex-corps members are:

  • Okoye Prosper (BN/22A/0698) and Udokop Owoidoho Abasi Nsima (BN/23B/0385), both of the Editorial and Publicity Community Development Service (CDS) Group, who were recognized for leading impactful media campaigns and pioneering innovative information dissemination in their host communities.
  • Ogunleye Paulinarh Bolatito (BN/22A/3096) and Chika Michelle Chioma (BN/23B/1731), from the Digital Onboarders Literacy CDS Group, who were celebrated for championing digital awareness projects and providing tech education to underserved youth.

President Tinubu honoured a total of 200 outstanding corps members at a combined Presidential Honours Award ceremony held in Abuja on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, for their meritorious service between the 2020 and 2023 service years. The awardees, selected through a rigorous screening process, were lauded for their exemplary performance in the scheme’s four cardinal programs.

The President’s honour came with significant life-changing benefits, including:

  • Automatic employment in the Federal Civil Service.
  • A fully funded postgraduate scholarship up to the doctoral level at any Nigerian university.
  • A cash prize of N250,000 for each recipient.

“The four Benue ambassadors did not just serve; they soared.
