No lives lost in Access Bank fire in Lagos

Two vehicles were completely destroyed in the fire

No lives were lost in a fire incident at a Lagos branch of Access Bank on Wednesday, August 26, 2020.
The accident was caused by a fully loaded 33,000 litres diesel tanker inside the bank’s building at Adetokunbo Ademola, Victoria Island.

The tanker was dispensing diesel for the use of the bank’s generators when the fire outbreak started, according to the General Manager of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu.

“A combined intervention of the emergency responders, LASEMA Response Team, Eko Hotel, LASG fire, UBA Fire Service, and Federal Fire are able to arrest the fire and stop it from escalating to further the building in the premises,” he said.
Access Bank said in a statement nobody was hurt
The fuel tanker and another car stationed close to it were completely destroyed in the fire.
