This initiative is part of the agency’s intensified efforts to combat drug cultivation and trafficking within Nigeria.

In Cross River State, NDLEA operatives targeted a sprawling 30-hectare cannabis farm located in Esuk-Odot village, Odukpani Local Government Area. The operation led to the destruction of approximately 75,000 kilograms of the illicit crop, with an additional 200 kilograms recovered from the site.

Simultaneously, in Edo State, the agency conducted coordinated raids in Ohosu forest, Ovia South West Local Government Area, and Okhuse community forest, Owan West Local Government Area. These efforts resulted in the elimination of 1,957.5 kilograms of cannabis from the illegal plantations.

He also highlighted the agency’s commitment to pursuing individuals involved in the cultivation and distribution of illegal substances.

In related developments, NDLEA operatives in Nasarawa State intercepted a lorry in Keffi transporting 4,000 kilograms of cannabis concealed beneath unprocessed wood. Two suspects, identified as Sunday Daniel (51) and Abu Peter (30), were apprehended in connection with the seizure.

Further enforcement actions across Kaduna, Bauchi, Yobe, Niger, and Lagos States led to the arrest of multiple suspects and the confiscation of various illicit substances, including tramadol, diazepam, and other narcotics. These operations underscore the NDLEA’s unwavering dedication to eradicating drug-related activities nationwide.
