MACHINES VS. HUMANS! Fuel Station Workers Vow to Block AA Rano’s New ‘Robot’ Petrol Stations; Fear Thousands of Jobs Will Be Lost to Automation!

A big battle is brewing in Nigeria’s oil sector, and this time it’s not about the price of petrol, but about who or what is pumping it. Workers across the country are up in arms against oil giant A.A. Rano over its new plan to open fuel stations that don’t need a single human attendant.

These “unmanned” stations are designed to let you do everything yourself: you swipe your card, you pump your fuel, and you drive away. While it sounds high-tech and fast, the people who currently work at the pumps are terrified. Their unions, NUPENG and PENGASSAN, have warned that if this “robot” style of business takes off, thousands of Nigerian youths will be thrown into the streets without jobs.

“We are not against technology, but we are against hunger,” one union leader said. The workers argue that in a country like Nigeria, where so many people are looking for work, replacing humans with machines is a “disaster waiting to happen.” They also worry that letting untrained customers handle fuel pumps could lead to dangerous fires.

On the other side, A.A. Rano says this is just how the world works now. They claim that automation will actually help customers by making sure they get exactly what they pay for no more “short-changing” by attendants. They also say it will keep the stations open 24 hours a day, even when humans are sleeping.

For now, the workers are calling on the government to step in and stop the “machines” from taking over. It’s a classic fight between modern technology and the need for local jobs, and it’s happening right at your neighborhood petrol station.
