Labour Party Refutes Lamidi Apapa’s Claim of Discrepancies in Obi’s Certificates

The Labour Party has refuted allegations made by one of its former members, Abayomi Arabambi, regarding purported discrepancies in the educational certificates of the party’s Presidential candidate, Peter Obi. In a phone interview with Vanguard on Thursday, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Obiora Ifoh, stated, “Arabambi is evidently carrying out the agenda of his sponsors, who are keen to undermine our party and divert attention from the less-than-transparent qualifications of President Bola Tinubu.”

“He should consider alternative tactics. Our candidate, Peter Gregory Obi, is a well-known personality whose ancestry, birth, educational history, and public service record have never been a subject of dispute.”

“As our candidate publicly asserted yesterday, several of his fellow students from the University of Nigeria Nsukka are still alive, with some holding key positions in the university’s management team. This fact can be verified.”

“His academic certificates are accessible to the public and open to scrutiny by any interested Nigerian. Obi has not, and will not, resort to retaining a team of lawyers to prevent the release of his academic records; he has already made them available. We challenge Arabambi’s principal to do the same and spare our nation further embarrassment.”
