Hundreds of mourners gather as the burial ceremony for Wigwe takes place in Rivers.

The funeral service is being held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Lion of Judah parish, Isiokpo, where mourners have gathered to pay their respects.

In the heart of Isiokpo community within the Ikwere Local Government Area of Rivers State, hundreds have gathered to bid farewell to the late Chief Executive Officer of Access Holding, Herbert Wigwe, alongside his wife Chizoba and son Chizi. The somber atmosphere at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Lion of Judah parish, Isiokpo, sets the stage for the funeral service of this esteemed family.

The service, honoring the legacy of the distinguished banker and philanthropist Herbert Wigwe, commenced punctually at 11:00 AM today. Friends, associates, and well-wishers from near and far have converged to offer their final respects. Beyond his professional triumphs, Wigwe’s profound commitment to social causes and community development, as echoed in the heartfelt tributes, leaves an enduring impact on countless lives.

Following the service, the interment will commence, providing an opportunity for family members and close companions to bid their farewells.

Among the esteemed guests attending are Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, business magnate Aliko Dangote, HRH Muhammadu Sanusi II, Gov. Alex Otti, Gov. Dapo Abiodun, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, Gov. Babajide Sawno-Olu, and various notable captains of industry. Also present are Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara and State Commissioner of Police Olatunji Disu, who serves as the Chief Security Officer (CSO) for the solemn burial ceremony.
