Governor AbdulRazaq Inspects New Hospital Project, Vows 2026 Completion
The Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, on Sunday inspected the ongoing construction of the multi-storey Oluremi Tinubu Hospital in Ilorin, pledging that the multi-billion-naira project will be completed in the second quarter of 2026.
The inspection tour came days after the governor approved an additional ₦20 billion for the upgrade of public school infrastructure across the state. While speaking to journalists at the hospital site, Governor AbdulRazaq described the project as one of the key people-focused initiatives of his administration, spanning health, education, and other sectors.
The governor revealed that the hospital, named after the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, would be equipped with cutting-edge medical technology. He noted that the administration has already ordered advanced equipment, including MRI and CT scanners, radiography machines, and PET scan technology, to ensure the facility offers premium healthcare services to residents.
“The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, was here about six months ago to lay the foundation of this world-class hospital. Work has progressed tremendously,” AbdulRazaq stated. “Hopefully, in the second quarter of next year, we’ll be done with it.”
Governor AbdulRazaq attributed the surge in such infrastructure developments to the increased federal revenue allocations to states following the removal of fuel subsidies. He commended President Bola Tinubu for his support, adding that his administration remains committed to projects that deliver long-term benefits and improve the living standards of Kwara residents.
