Gov Uba Sani and Speaker Abbas Set Massive Voting Target for Kaduna APC as 2027 Battle Lines Are Drawn
The political atmosphere in Kaduna State shifted into high gear on Tuesday, March 3, as the state’s most powerful leaders issued a “numerical ultimatum” to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Governor Uba Sani and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, have officially tasked the party’s machinery with delivering a staggering two million votes in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at a packed stakeholders’ meeting in the state capital, Governor Uba Sani made it clear that “business as usual” would not suffice to maintain the party’s dominance. He pointed to his administration’s aggressive rural development as the primary weapon for the upcoming fight. “We are not going to the people with empty promises,” the Governor declared. “We are going with the roads we’ve built, the schools we’ve fixed, and the ‘State of Harmony’ we have restored to Kaduna. Two million votes is not just a dream; it is a necessity to ensure the North-West remains the heart of the APC.”
Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, adding federal weight to the mandate, urged party members to descend into the trenches of the 255 wards. He emphasized that the strength of the party lies in its grassroots unit-by-unit organization. “Kaduna must lead from the front,” Abbas told the cheering crowd. “With the synergy between the state and the federal government, we have the results to back our claims. Now, we just need the numbers to prove it.”
The meeting also served as a “cleansing fire” for internal grievances, with several prominent members who had been previously alienated being welcomed back into the fold. By closing ranks now, the Kaduna APC hopes to avoid the distractions of internal factions that plagued the party in the past. As the meeting concluded, the message was unmistakable: the 2027 campaign has unofficially begun in the North, and the “Two Million March” is the goal everyone must follow.
