EFCC Slams ‘Professional Protesters’ and Vows to Keep Chasing Stolen Cash Without Fear or Favor!

EFCC Slams ‘Professional Protesters’ and Vows to Keep Chasing Stolen Cash Without Fear or Favor!

The EFCC is firing back at people it claims are trying to bully the agency into stopping its work. In a blunt statement, the anti-graft body told Nigerians that it has no intention of slowing down, even if its critics try to use “blackmail” to get their way.

The Commission’s boss, Ola Olukoyede, explained that there have been a lot of “sponsored” attacks lately people paid to hold protests or write bad things in the media to make the EFCC look like the “bad guy.” According to him, these are just distraction tactics used by those with something to hide.

“If you haven’t stolen public money, you have nothing to worry about,” the EFCC chief basically told the public. He promised that the agency isn’t interested in picking sides or playing politics; they are only interested in following the money. He pledged that every investigation would be handled fairly, using high-tech forensic tools to make sure innocent people aren’t dragged into mess.

This “no-nonsense” attitude comes as the EFCC digs into some big cases involving former high-ranking government officials. While some say these officials are being picked on, the EFCC says they are just following the evidence wherever it leads.

The agency also sent a warning to those trying to mess with the country’s new tax revenues: they are watching. As Nigeria tries to fund its massive 2026 budget, the EFCC says its main job is to make sure that money actually gets to the people, instead of ending up in private pockets.
