The massive appropriation bill is structured to aggressively drive industrialization and significantly enhance the state’s economic recovery, with a clear focus on development projects. The proposed budget shows a strong commitment to capital expenditure, allocating a substantial ₦749.49 billion (84.7%) to new and ongoing projects, while recurrent expenditure is pegged at ₦135.37 billion (15.3%).

“This budget is a product of determination, discipline, and sincerity,” Governor Nwifuru told the lawmakers, despite prevailing national economic challenges. “It is designed to deepen economic recovery, drive industrialisation, and tangibly improve the standard of living for every Ebonyi resident.”

Economic and Social Sectors Lead Allocation

The Economic Sector received the largest chunk, with ₦492.93 billion (55.71%) earmarked for projects aimed at job creation, agriculture, and power. The Social Sector was also generously funded, receiving ₦247.97 billion (28.02%) to cover education, health, and welfare programmes.

These include the establishment of the specialized University of ICT, Oferekpe, and the groundbreaking for the University of Aeronautic Engineering in Ezza, positioning Ebonyi as a rising hub in specialized technology and aviation.
