Chinua Soludo Pays Medical Bills and Frees Detained Patients in Emotional Christmas Outreach Across Three Anambra LGAs
The festive spirit in Anambra State took a compassionate turn on Christmas Day, December 25, 2025, as Chinua Soludo, son of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, conducted an unscheduled philanthropic tour to provide a “Christmas miracle” for dozens of hospital patients.
Moving through the heart of the state, the outreach targeted three key local government areas Anaocha, Idemili South, and Aguata where Chinua personally cleared the medical debts of patients who had lost hope of spending the holidays at home.
The visit to St. Joseph Hospital, Adazi-Nnukwu, was particularly poignant. There, Soludo met with patients who had been medically cleared for discharge but remained confined to their hospital beds because of unpaid bills. After clearing the debts in full, Chinua went a step further, providing cash for transportation to ensure every beneficiary reached their doorstep in time for Christmas dinner.
“Christmas is a period to generate happiness and spread love, especially to those who are struggling in our hospitals,” Chinua stated during the visit, visibly moved by the stories of the patients. “For me, the true essence of this season is reaching out to the needy and making sure they feel that society has not neglected them. We must show them that the future is bright.”
At Nnobi and Ekwulobia, the scene was similar, as families who had prepared for a somber holiday in the wards were suddenly told they were free to go. Hospital management at the various facilities praised the intervention as a significant boost to the morale of both patients and staff.
This act of individual philanthropy coincides with the Governor’s broader “Onwa D’zemba” festival, a month-long series of cultural and humanitarian events aimed at making Anambra a premier festive destination. However, while the state celebrates with masquerades and concerts, this quiet intervention in the wards has been hailed by residents as the most meaningful highlight of the 2025 Christmas season.
