Akume Urges Nigerians to Embrace Locally Made Products as Pillar of Economic Growth and National Pride

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, has called on Nigerians to prioritize the patronage of locally manufactured goods, emphasizing that such support is not only an economic strategy but also a matter of national pride. He made this appeal during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the Innoson Group of Companies, led by its Chairman, Chief Innocent Chukwuma, to his office in Abuja on Friday.

Senator Akume highlighted the importance of strengthening Nigeria’s industrial base and scaling up local manufacturing across key sectors of the economy. He noted that the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda encapsulates every aspect needed for Nigeria’s aspiration to achieve a one trillion dollar economy in the foreseeable future.

Commending Chief Chukwuma for his contributions to the Nigerian automotive industry, Akume assured that the government would continue to support and patronize products made by Innoson and encourage others to do the same. He emphasized that products made in Nigeria can compete favorably with those produced elsewhere, urging citizens to make conscious efforts to support indigenous businesses.

This initiative aligns with the federal government’s broader commitment to promoting local industries and reducing dependence on imported goods. By embracing made-in-Nigeria products, citizens contribute to economic development, job creation, and the realization of national economic goals.
